EQUITY MARKET PERFORMANCE
i. Weekly Turnover Trends
Week on week turnover recordings increased,
the week recorded a total turnover of TZS 28.68
billion, X17 up in comparison to a total turnover
of TZS 1.67 billion the previous week.

The number of shares traded also increased X2,
the total number of shares trade were
3,171,997 compared to shares traded
the previous week,1,479,101.
Foreign investor participation was high, 96.94%
of the total turnover. Foreign participation was
mainly on TBL counter 95.65% of the total
turnover.

ii. Most Traded Securities
The week’s busiest counter was TBL. The
company accounted to 57.08% of total number
of shares transacted, whereas CRDB and NMB
counters accounted to 34.91% and 4.16%

respectively.

iii. All Index Share
All Share index gained 43.85 points to settle at
2,558.12 points from
2,601.97 points the previous week. The gain
was mainly attributed to an increase in share
prices on ACACIA, CRDB, EABL, KENYA
AIRWAYS, JUBILEE, NMG, NMB, TBL, TOL,
TPCC and UCHUMI (USL) counter.
iv. Sectorial Performance and Indices
The Industrial and Allied sector contributed the
highest proportion of turnover for the week,
97.11% of total turnover. Transactions were
mainly carried out on TBL counter, 95.92% of
the total turnover.
The Banking sector accounted to 2.77% of the
total turnover, CRDB was the main contributor in
the sector, 1.55% of the total turnover. While the
Commercial Services sector contributed 0.11%
of the total turnover, with most transactions
carried out on SWISSPORT counter.
